LANDAUER, world leader in dosimetry, chooses Efalia for its documents

LANDAUER automates its documentary production to keep up with its global growth

Faced with strong growth and the need to effectively manage a large volume of documents related to its dosimetry activity, LANDAUER undertook a vast project in 2005 to industrialize its document flows. The implementation of the Efalia document composition solution, coupled with an ERP developed in-house, made it possible to automate and dematerialize the production and distribution of essential documents, in particular invoices and control reports, thus generating significant savings in terms of time and operational efficiency.

Challenge

LANDAUER was facing the manual processing of considerable documentary volumes, which was incompatible with its international growth and quality requirements.

  • Manual management of 8,000 quarterly invoices
  • Production and distribution of 100,000 annual packing slips
  • Generating and sending 200,000 associated control reports
  • Need to optimize document processes to support growth
  • Need to dematerialize exchanges with customers (dental offices, hospitals, CHU, nuclear power plants)

Solution

The Efalia document composition solution was deployed in parallel with the development of an in-house business ERP to automate and optimize document flows.

Results

Digital transformation of document flows

The implementation of the Efalia document composition solution allowed LANDAUER to completely reinvent its document management. This transformation has led to an almost total automation of documentary production, accompanied by the gradual dematerialization of exchanges with customers via a dedicated web portal. The operational benefits are considerable, both in terms of time savings and in terms of improved flexibility and quality of service.

  • Maximum automation: Automated production of invoices and control reports
  • Progressive dematerialization: Customer web portal for access to documents
  • Continuity of service: Support for the complete dosimeter cycle (sending, analysis, results, reconditioning)
  • Flexibility: Fast adaptation when updating documents
  • Guaranteed scalability: Ability to integrate new document flows

Key figures

  • Significant time savings: Over a week saved on processing invoices
  • Storage reduction: Significant reduction in archived paper volumes
  • Strengthened compliance: Progressive alignment with the goal of “zero paper” by 2023

Return on investment

  • Operational efficiency: Faster processing of key documents
  • Customer responsiveness: Immediate access to documents via the web portal
  • Organizational flexibility: Ability to change documents quickly
  • Material savings: Reduced printing and storage costs

Our in-house ERP was put into production in 2007, while at the same time, we launched a web portal for our customers to allow them to access and download their invoices and other associated documents. Since then, we have continued to evolve our system, in particular thanks to this web portal, which has allowed us to dematerialize more and more documents.
